Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: The ANG would like to lease an additional 0.67 acres of land from the Bangor International Airport so that they can expand their existing fire station. The Guard is requesting a no -cost lease for 50 years similar to their other lease agreements with the Airport. The 50 year lease is a requirement for the ANG to be able to invest federal funds in the construction of the facility. ORDER, Authorizing Bangor International Airport to Enter into a Lease Agreement with the Maine Air National Guard for .67 Acres of Land. WHEREAS, the City of Bangor owns and operates Bangor International Airport; and WHEREAS, the Maine Air National Guard has several facilities adjacent to the Airport and leases some Airport property for its use; and WHEREAS, the Air National Guard operates an Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) station that serves both military and civilian aircraft; and WHEREAS, the Air National Guard would like to expand the ARFF station; and WHEREAS, this expansion requires an additional .67 acres of land for parking; and WHEREAS, it would be advantageous to both parties to have this improvement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, that Bangor International Airport is authorized to enter into a lease agreement with the Maine Air National Guard for .67 acres of land adjacent to their Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting station.
