Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: In January 2009, ExxonMobil notified the City of Bangor of its intent to not renew its agreement to supply fuel at Bangor International Airport for an additional term effective July 31, 2009. Since the Airport serves as the Fixed Base Operator at the Airport and provides ground handling services, including fuel, to Airport customers, the Airport, with the assistance of an aviation fuel consultant, reviewed and analyzed various options for fuel supply. Irving Oil Terminals provided the best offer for the Airport and its customers. The proposed agreement would designate Irving Oil Terminals as the supplier of record for the Airport for transient customers. Scheduled airlines will have the option of purchasing fuel from their choice of supplier. The Airport will enter into a separate agreement for fuel supply for the Fixed Base Operation. This Order will authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Irving Oil Terminals, Inc. in a form reviewed and approved by the City Solicitor. Rebecca HM Department Head Manager's Comments: This has been reviewed by the Business and Economic Development Committee and in Council workshops and is recommended for approval.
