During an inspection in June 2006, the FAA found certain deficiencies regarding aircraft rescue and firefighting services primarily involving documentation of required training. As a result, the FAA assessed a proposed civil penalty. After negotiations with the FAA and documentation supporting improvements, the proposed penalty was reduced to $47,850. This Order will authorize the execution of documents necessary to settle this matter for a civil penalty of $47,850. Order, Authorizing the Execution of Document Necessary for Agreement with the FAA WHEREAS, the FAA does annual inspections of Bangor International Airport; and WHEREAS, during an inspection in June 2006, the FAA found certain deficiencies primarily related to documentation of required training for aircraft rescue and fire fighting; and WHEREAS, such deficiencies have since been addressed and corrected; and WHEREAS, the FAA has assessed a civil penalty; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR THAT the City Manager and other appropriate City staff are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to settle the pending matter regarding alleged deficiencies found by the FAA during a 2006 inspection and to pay a civil penalty of $47,850.
