Commentary: The City wishes to apply for and accept Airport Improvement Project grant
funds available through the Federal Aviation Administration and the Maine Department of
Transportation. These funds will be used for the above projects. Federal funds will provide 95%
of the project cost. The State of Maine and Airport revenues will evenly fund the remainder at 2

Manager's Comments:
The FAA notified us late last week that they were prepared to proceed with these grants and
that the necessary application and acceptance paperwork must be returned this week. As a
result, there was insufficient time to process this grant through the normal Committee system.
Please note that these projects are included within the Airports five year capital improvement
program which has been previously reviewed by the Council. Recommend approval.
