Item No.
09 028
Date: December 22, 2008
Item/Subject: Ordinance, Amending the Code of the City of Bangor, Chapter 223, Property
Maintenance, § 223-2, Amendments to Standards, to Set a Standard
for Allowable Weed Height.
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary:
This ordinance will amend Chapter 223, Property Maintenance, § 223-2, Amendments to
Standards, to provide for a maximum allowable weed height in properties in the City. The weed
provision currently in the Code was adopted from the International Property Maintenance Code,
but leaves the City to determine the specific weed height allowed. At the time the City adopted
the current code, a maximum weed height was inadvertently not included. This ordinance would
set the maximum height at ten inches.
