Commentary:
Bangor's Department of Health & Community Services was awarded funds by Maine CDC in FY'08 and FV09
to address tobacco, substance abuse, chronic disease, nutrition, and physical health through the development
of a Public Health Infrastructure. Maine CDC has awarded $599,721 to continue this effort for the period July
1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.

BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR:
RESOLVED, THAT there is hereby accepted and appropriated a grant from the Maine
Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Disease Control, in the amount of
$599,721 to address tobacco, substance abuse, chronic disease, nutrition, and physical health
through prevention strategies.
