HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-02-09 09-069 RESOLVECOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 09 069 Date: February 9, 2009 Item/Subject: RESOLVE, Appropriating a $675,000 Grant from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development's 2008 Riverfront Community Development Bond Program Responsible Department: Community & Economic Development Commentary: On October 15, 2008, the City Council authorized the submission of a grant application to the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development for 2008 Riverfront Community Development Bond Program funds in the amount of $750,000. The City has received notification that the Grant application has been approved in the amount of $675,000. The attached Resolve will appropriate the Grant funds. The Grant was awarded for the purpose of funding improvement proposed in the City's Waterfront Master Plan for the park and open space area downriver from Railroad Street between the railroad tracks and Penobscot River. The City engaged Shadley Associates for all details of engineering and landscape design work which is 90% complete. Bids and construction will begin in the Spring of 2009.
