Responsible Department: Waste Water Treatment Plant Commentary: On January 7, 2009, the City received one (1) bid for sodium hypochlorite. The bid price was $1.02 per gallon from GAC Chemical Corp. of Searsport, Maine. Projected costs for the first year of the three-year contract will be $114,089.76 based upon the estimated annual usage of 104,000 gallons. On January 28, 2009 the Finance Committee reviewed and approved the staff's recommendation to award the contract to GAC Chemical Corp. in the amount of $1.02 per gallon or $114,089.76 for the estimated 104,000 gallons. The contract award recommendation must be reviewed approved by the City Council as it is over $100,000. Manager's Comments: Recommend approval.
