Responsible Department: Legal Commentary: Members of the Bangor Police Department were instrumental in an arrest leading to the seizure of cash that was subsequently forfeited by the individual who was arrested. As a result, the City is entitled to a portion of the seized funds. This Order will authorize the acceptance of the funds and the execution of the approval of the fund transfer. RAFAEL BRITO, Defendant and $926.00 U.S. Currency, Defendant In Rem SUPERIOR COURT Criminal Action Docket No. CR -2009-616 Municipality of Bangor Approval of Transfer 15 M.R.S.A. §5824(3) & §5822(4)(A) NOW COMES the city of Bangor, Maine, by and through its municipal officers, and does hereby grant approval pursuant to 15 M.R.S.A. § 5824(3) & §5826(6) to the transfer of the above captioned Defendant in Rem, namely Nine Hundred Twenty -Six Dollars ($926.00), or any portion thereof, on the grounds that the Bangor Police Department did make a substantial contribution to the investigation of this or a related criminal case.
