HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-06-28 10-230 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 30 Date: 6-28-10 Item/Subject: Order: Authorizing the Interim City Manager to Apply for $29,947 in Grant Funds as Part of the Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Program Responsible Department: Police Commentary: The Penobscot County Sheriff's Department and the Bangor Police Department have received notification that $29,947 is available through the Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Program. This grant requires that these two agencies share the grant. $598.94 will be provided to the Bangor Police Department for administering the grant and the remaining $29,348.06 will be divided evenly between the agencies. The Bangor Police Department intends to use the $15,272.97 to provide law enforcement training to its employees. There is no match required.
