Item No. -13-236
Date: July 8, 2013
Item/Subject: ORDINANCE, Amending Chapter 148, Historical Preservation, of the'Code of
the City of Bangor, By Clarifying the Definition of Structure
Responsible Department: Planning
Commentary:
With the adoption of the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code, building permits are no
longer required for fences under six feet in height and certain other structures. This ordinance
clarifies that such structures are still required to undergo Historic Preservation Commission
review, even when a building permit is not necessary, due to their effect on the historic
character of properties.
