Responsible Department: Community and Economic Development Commentary: This Order, if approved, will authorize a 4 month extension to the lease with the Bangor Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) to extend the term through October 31, 2013. The CVB has leased office space at 208 Maine Ave. since January 2012. Although they are actively looking, they have not yet signed a lease for permanent space. They hope to do so by the 31s' of October. This item was reviewed and recommended for approval by the Business & Economic Development Committee at its June 4, 2013 meeting. Order, Authorizing Execution of an Amendment to the Lease Agreement with the Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. WHEREAS, the Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. ("CVB'� has leased space in a building at 208 Maine Ave. since January, 2012; and WHEREAS, it is in the parties interest to extend the lease to October 31, 2013; and WHEREAS, this period will provide the Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau time to continue to identify and relocate to a new location. BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR THAT Catherine M. Conlow, City Manager, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Bangor to execute an Amendment to the lease with the Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. for office space in a building located at 208 Maine Avenue to extend the term through October 31, 2013.
