Item No. 13-310
Date: September 23, 2013
Item/Subject: ORDINANCE, Amending Chapter 165, Land Development Code, of the Code
of the City of Bangor, By Expanding Parking for Small Commercial Vehicles
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary: This ordinance will amend Chapter 165 of the Land Development Code, to
expand parking for small commercial vehicles. If approved, this ordinance will allow owners of
small trucks to park them overnight at their homes and would raise the weight limit for vehicles
parking more than four hours in residential districts from 3/4 ton to one ton. The City Code does
not currently allow commercial vehicles larger than 3/4 ton to park for more than four hours in
residential districts. This ordinance was put into place a number of years ago, however, before
one ton pickup trucks were common. The purpose of this change is to bring the ordinances in
conformity with common practice.
