Item No. 13-135
Date: April 22, 2013
Item/Subject: ORDER, Authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Maine
Department of Transportation for reimbursement for grant expenditures at Bangor International
Airport
Responsible Department: Airport
Commentary:
This Order will authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Maine DOT for reimbursement
of grant expenditures. Under the Federal Airport Improvement Program, the City and state are each
required to provide a 5% match on AIP grant expenditures at Airport. The airport receives grant funding
from the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the State's share of costs under the Airport
Improvement Program (AIP). This is a renewal of the cooperative -agreement that primary airports, such as
Bangor International, have with the State to ensure expenditures for Federal AIP grants are made. This
standard cooperative agreement stipulates the process for reimbursement from the State for their share of
the FAA approved capital improvement projects at the airport. This agreement has been reviewed and
approved by City Legal.
