The proposal is to use existing Community Development Block Grant Funds to develop a competitive grant program available to non-profit organizations doing projects in the City of Bangor. This program would allow the City to target these funds towards qualified projects as well as create opportunity to increase project funding through potential contributions from non-profit organizations providing services in Bangor. Consistent with the CDBG projects these funds would be used to make a direct and transformational impact on low to moderate income people or eliminate slum and blight. This new program will meet all CDBG federal requirements.
