HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-03-11 13-100 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 13-100 Date: March 11, 2013 Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bangor and Maine Association of Police representing Patrol Officers at the Police Department Responsible Department: Executive Commentary: This Order authorizes the City Manager to Execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Patrol Officers at the Police Department. Negotiations between the City and Union have resulted in a Tentative Agreement which has been ratified by the Union. This agreement follows the most recent contract that expired on June 30, 2012. The Agreement has been negotiated within the guidelines established by the City Council and includes the following: a three year term; wage adjustments of 1.5% year one, 1.5% year two; and 2.0% year three; updated health insurance rates and corresponding date changes; agreement to close the most expensive health care plan January 1, 2015, adjustments to the outside detail rate structure for private services; an adjustment to training compensation; and minor housekeeping changes. The Agreement was reviewed with Council in Executive Session on February 25th and is presented with the recommendation of the Management Negotiating Committee.
