Responsible Department: Police Commentary: This order authorizes the application for and acceptance of a $23,948.00 Edward Byrne Memorial Grant to be shared with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department. Under the terms of the grant the City would receive $13,948.00 for grant administration and for the purpose of purchasing law enforcement related equipment to enhance the capabilities of the patrol division and Special Response Team. There is no match required. This was reviewed and recommended for approval at the July 18, 2016 Government Operations Committee meeting.
