At Council direction, staff did communicate with neighboring businesses. The retail operators did not think removing the spaces would cause harm, however the owner of the building across the street was concerned about the loss of parking. Should the council not want to remove the spaces; staff recommends that the right turn lane from Main Street to Water Street be removed as the uses conflict. It is staffs recommendation that the parking be removed. This item was reviewed and recommended for approval at the Business and Economic Development Committee Meeting on July 25, 2016.
