BANGOR SCHOOL COMMITTEE
REGULAR MEETING
7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026
School Committee Members Present: Chair Tim Surrette, Vice Chair Katie Brydon, Mallory Cook, and Ben
Speed. Members Sara Luciano, Shelly Okere, and Ben Sprague were excused.
A. 1. & 2. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Tim Surrette and the pledge of
allegiance followed.
B. Adjustments to the Agenda:
E. 2. a. 1. First Reading of a Revised Policy
Motion: Brydon Second: Cook Vote: 4-0
C. Public Comments:
No public comments
D. 2. a. Director of Business Services, Heather Hale, provided an update on BSD facilities.
b. Superintendent Robinson provided a district update to the committee
c. Superintendent Robinson reported the following reassignment for the 26-27 school
year:
Jeanette Quirk from Principal at Fairmount School to Principal at Fourteenth Street
School.
Darryl Loring from Assistant Principal at James F. Doughty School to Interim
Principal at Fairmount School.
Carissa Lamond from Grade 3 Teacher at Vine Street School to a Grade 2 Teacher at
Vine Street School.
Danielle Schneider from (.8) Title I Teacher at Vine Street School to Title I Teacher at
(.85) Vine Street School and (.15) Private Schools.
Shana Curtis from Literacy Coach at (.6) Vine Street School and (.4) 14t�' Street
School to Literacy Coach at Vine Street School.
Angela Leigh from Title I Teacher at Downeast School to Title I Teacher at (.4)
Downeast School and (.6) at Abraham Lincoln School.
Katrina Rutherford from Literacy Coach at (.9) Downeast School and (.1) Bangor
Regional Program to Literacy Coach at Downeast School.
Meghan Schall from Literacy Coach at (.4) Fruit Street School, (.4) Abraham Lincoln
School and (.2) Mary Snow School to Literacy Coach at (.45) Fruit Street School,
(.45) Abraham Lincoln School and (.1) at Bangor Regional Program.

E. 1. a. 1-2. Recommendation to approve the draft Minutes of the June 24, 2026 Regular School
Cornmittee Meeting.

b. 1. a. Recommendation to approve the following teacher nominations for the 2026-2027
School Year, with a one-year probationary contract.
Gianna Cilley Grade 5 Teacher—2 yr Position Mary Snow School
Jesse Curtis School Counselor Abe Lincoln School
Jennifer Emrich Art Teacher Fairmount/14t" St Schools
Susan Hoxie Instructional Coach Elementary Schools
Kathleen Young English Teacher Bangor High School
Motion: Brydon Second: Cook Vote: 4-0
2. Recommendation to approve the following extra-duty assignments for the 2026-2027
School Year.
Katrina Rutherford Governance Committee District
Nitisha Lankhorst (.5) Science Dept Head Bangor High School
Kari White (.5) Science Dept Head Bangor High School
Christopher Packard STEM Research Coord Bangor High School
Stuart Greener Spec Ed Dept Head Bangor High School
Motion: Brydon Second: Cook Vote: 4-0
c. Committee Member Cook shared the following donations:
To Fruit Street School from Hannaford, a cash donation to support students, having a
total dollar value of$147.
To the Special Education Department from RSU #12, a fully electric bariatric 48 inch
bed, having a total dollar value of$800.

E. 2. a. 1. Recommendation to approve First Reading of the following Revised Policy:
1. Revised Policy GCEA— Substitute Compensation Guide
Motion: Brydon Second: Cook Vote: 4-0
G. Member Cook provided an update on the UTC program, they are busy completing
summer projects, enrollment for next year have increased from last year.
H. Member Cook encouraged everyone to go by the 14th Street School to appreciate the

new landscaping that was done.
Member Speed spoke about the positive effects of the World Cup.
I. 1. Important dates were reviewed by Chair Tim Surrette.
J. Recommended to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 p.m.
