Authorizing the Acceptance of a Tree Donation from Bangor Beautiful Inc.
Summary
This order would accept a donation of trees valued at $4,441.23. Bangor Beautiful Inc. is proposing
to plant six red oak, seven red maple, three service -berry, 64 fragrant sumac, and 16 tree watering
rings, beginning in the public esplanade at 444 Main Street running northward for approximately 0.2
miles. These species have proven to be hardy in the urban environment and resist salting and our
freezing winter conditions. The planting activities will be overseen by Forestry Division staff and will
be cared for by staff following the planting.
This item was reviewed and unanimously recommended for approval at the May 18th Infrastructure
Committee meeting.
