A quorum being present the December 5, 2025 meeting of the Commission on Cultural Development was called to order by Chair Earley at 8:35 AM. rdth and November 7 meetings. be received in the next few weeks. 5. Committee Reports: term ends at the end of the year. Provided an update on ongoing committee projects and provided recommendations for future work. Chair Earley suggested asking University of Maine students to update story boards. Commissioners discussed ideas for a cultural asset survey, required staff assistance, and website updates. 6. Discussion of Ongoing Projects & Commission Plans for 2026 a. Chair Earley discussed ongoing projects with the Commission, including the historical display and art installations in Pickering Square, as well as the public restroom art. Development Director Anne Krieg suggested having an opening for the public restroom art during the first s in agreement. Discussed staff coordination. b. Chair Earley recommended establishing an ad-hoc committee for the Pickering Square art installation project. Commissioner Elmore stated that she could help with advertising the call for artists. Commissioners discussed the project at length with Development Director Krieg. responded and discussed at length. Chair Earley asked about potentially using some of these also discussed the use of TIF funds for a multi-use arts center. discussed. e. Development Director Anne Krieg updated the Commission on comments from City Council regarding the disbursement of grant funds, including some concerns raised over awarding grant funds for capital projects and for events that involve serving alcohol.
