BANGOR SCHOOL COMMITTEE
REGULAR MEETING
7:00 p.m., Thursday,November 13, 2025
School Committee Members Present: Chair Tim Surrette, Vice Chair Katie Brydon, Mallory Cook, Sara
Luciano, Shelly Okere, and Ben Speed. Member Ben Sprague was excused.
A. 1. & 2. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Tim Surrette and the pledge of
allegiance followed.
B. Adjustments to the Agenda:
No adjustments to the agenda.
C. Public Comments:
No Public Comments.
D. 2. a. Dr Barbara Stewart and students presented the Listening Schools Project to the
Committee.
b. Superintendent Robinson provided a district update to the committee.
c. Superintendent Robinson provided an update of the October 1, 2025 enrollment.
d. Superintendent Robinson reported the following resignations:

E. 1. a. 1. Recommendation to approve the Minutes of the October 29, 2025 Regular School
Committee Meeting.

b. Recommendation to approve the August Financial Report.

c. Recommendation to approve second reading of the following revised policies:
1. Revised Policy DBG—Budget Adoption Process
2. New Policy DJ—Bidding/Purchasing Rec;q����c��r����i�
3. Revised Policy DJH — Purchasing and �����ata'�c��i�g: Procurement Staff Code of
Conduct
4. Revised Policy EBCC—Bomb Threats
5. Revised Policy GCBA-1 —Tutor Compensation Guide
6. Revised Policy GCQC - Resignations

d. Vice Chair Katie Brydon will share the following donations:

To Downeast School from Bangor Savings Bank, jars of peanut butter and jelly to
support students, having a total dollar value of$300.
To Downeast School from Union Street Hannaford, candy for trunk or treat, having a
total dollar value of$100.
To Vine Street School from Jessica Muhlin, Shaw's Gift Cards to support students and
their families, having a total dollar value of$250.
To William S. Cohan School from Bob's Discount Furniture — Charitable Foundation,
a gift card to support WSCS Courtyard Atrium for students, having a total dollar value
of$1,000.
To William S. Cohan School from Bangor Savings Bank, jars of peanut butter and
jelly to support students, having a total dollar value of$175.
To William S. Cohan School from Lannie Moffatt, a cash donation to support the
WSCS Food Pantry, having a total dollar value of$200.
To William S. Cohan School from Dan Kleban, Maine Beer Company, a cash
donation to support the WSCS Food Pantry, having a total dollar value of$8,000.
To the Bangor School Department from the Bangor Lion's Club, a Vision Screener,
having a total dollar value of$8,000.

E. 2. a. 1-3 Recommended approval of First Reading of the following Revised Policies:
1. Revised Policy EBCB —Emergency Evacuation Drills
2. New Policy EBBD—Energy Management Programs
3. Revised Policy KLG — Relations with School Resource Officer and Law
Enforcement Authorities

F. 2. Vice Chair Brydon provided an update to the Committee on the recently held UTC
meeting and announced an open house on 11/25 until 6:30pm.
;. Member Brozman provided an update on current events at Bangor High School.
H. Member Luciano congratulated newly appointed Chair Surrette on a smooth first
meeting and welcomed new committee members.
Member Speed gave thanks for the opportuniry to represent on the committee and
appreciation for the warm welcome.
