Pursuant to Council drder 25-308, passed on Octaber 27, 2q25 directing the Director of Engineering
Department, Jefferson L. Davis to begin the process to discontinue a portion of Gilman Road,
northwesterly of Stillwater Avenue,West end of Gilman Road and in accordance with 23 M.R.S.A. §3026-
A,the Director of Engineering,formerly known,City Engineer reports:
That of his intention to discontinue said portion of Gilman Road,the Director of Engineering gave written
notice to abutters:

Said notice with a detailed plan was alsa posted on the public notice board at Ciry Hall and an utility
poles in the vicinity of the proposed discontinuance,
In accordance with the notification given, the Director af Engineering conducted a public hearing on
November 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. relative to the intentian of the Municipal Officers of the City of Bangar
to discontinue a portion of Gilman Road, northwesterly of Stillwater Avenue,West end of Gilman Road.
There were no attendees to the public meeting.
The City Engineer concluded and made the following determinations:
WHEREAS,Gilman Road was accepted an March 5, 1$66;and

WHEREAS, Gilman Road Right-Of-Way is 5q feet wide and extends far approximately 2,775 feet
narthwest of Stillwater Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the total area of Right-pf-Way to be discontir�ued is about 18,425 square feet(.042 acre +)
for a distance of 37p+/-feet; and
WHEREAS,said partian of Gilman Road is no longer necessary to serve the public as a Right-Of-Way.
WHEREAS, In accordance with 23 M.R.S.A. § 3026-A, �butking praperty owners are entitled to $p.00
damages.
It is recammended that the portion of Gilman Road, northwesterly of Stillwater Avenue, Wesk end of
Gilman Road be discontinued and vacated in its entirety, as depicted in"Exhibit A"and be removed from
the Official City Map,with na retention of a public easement.
