Authorizing the Purchase of Three (3) Police Patrol Vehicles from Darling's Ford, the Current State of Maine
Contract Holder, in the Amount of $151,527
Summary
This Order would authorize the purchase of police vehicles from Darling's Ford, the current State of
Maine contract holder for police vehicles. State of Maine contracts allow for municipalities to
"piggyback" on their contract which enables municipalities to take advantage of a negotiated price.
The City of Bangor's Procurement Policy authorizes the City to join cooperative purchasing groups or
other units of government in order to purchase goods or services when such action is deemed in the
best interest of the City.
The FY2026 budget authorized the purchase of three (3) police patrol vehicles. All three vehicles will
be 2025 Ford Explorers. The total cost is $151,527.
This item was reviewed and recommended for approval at the Finance Committee meeting on
September 3, 2025.
