Authorizing the City Manager to Amend the FY25 Maine Prevention Network Subcontract with Northern Light
Mayo Hospital and Extend it Through FY26
Summary
This Order will authorize the City Manager to amend the FY25 subcontract with Northern Light Mayo
Hospital and extend it through FY26 for the Maine Prevention Network grant.
The Maine Department of Health and Human Services amended the City's original FY25 contract and
extended it through the end of FY26. Resolves 24-166 and 25-182 authorized the City Manager to
accept and appropriate the Maine Prevention Network funding for FY25 and FY26. This is the second
contract period in a ten-year project period. Order 25-032 was approved authorizing the City
Manager to execute a subcontract with Northern Light Mayo Hospital.
Bangor Public Health and Community Services is the lead agency for the project, providing substance
use and tobacco prevention services, and health eating active living promotion services in Penobscot
County. Northern Light Mayo Hospital has been contracted to provide prevention services in
Piscataquis County since January 1, 2023.
This item was reviewed and recommended for approval at the Government Operations Committee
meeting on September 3, 2025.
