Emme Ngyuen Members not present: Member Julie Davis, Member Theron Letterlough City of Bangor staff and guests present: City Manager, Debbie Laurie; Assistant City Manager Courtney 0'Donnell Call to Order Call to order at 5:30pm Introduction of advisory board members and city members present General Public Comments • No public Comments Committee Business • Update on Membership i. Melissa Bucholz resigned from committee ii. Emme Nguyen- high school representative • Election of Vice-Chair i. Member Boyes self-nominated. Member Willey motion to approve, unanimous approval Approval of Meeting Minutes for February 25, 2025 & March 25, 2025 • Motion to approve • Passed unanimously Education/Updates • None Events • 2026 MLK Jr Breakfast Planning • Keep this as a placeholder for future meetings and updates • Member Roth asked if event is being held in Bangor. Chair Brydon confirmed that the NAACP is actively moving forward with moving the event to the Cross Center. Member Fellis clarified that the NAACP reached out to our committee about partnering with the city/committee. Our committee is not initiating the change or creating a competing event. • Pride • New group is organizing June Pride events. • On waitlist to table at Pride Parade • Question raised about bringing in members of the public to assist with event work/planning. CM Laurie indicated that ACHREIHR meetings are public and that is an opportunity for people to attend and partner with the committee. Policy/Ordinances • Work Session- Ordinance chapter 23, Article VI • If recommendation is made, first reading would be Monday, then referred to Gov Ops (May 19tn) and second reading of City Council May 28th i
