Staff Present:David Szewczyk, City Solicitor; and Grace Innis, Assistant City Solicitor Introductions: Chair Gould opened the hearing and introduced members. Chair Gould advised Associate Member McCann that hewill not vote, but he can participate as an Associate Member. Approval of Minutes: January 7, 2025: Member Ballingall made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Member Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed (5-0). Public Hearing -198 Broadway, Applicant Steven Farren, Appealing the Decision of the Code Enforcement Officer’s Notice of Violation. Chair Gould introduced the public hearing. Steven Farren spoke as the applicant and presented his appeal. Board of Appeals Members asked questions. Citizens Scott Pardy, Justin Cartier, James Frost, Louie Morrison, Darren Gould, Emily Ellis, and Ted Murray spoke in support of the Applicant. Citizen Benjamin Cyr emailed the Board in support of the Applicant, and his email was included in the appeal package. City of Bangor Code Enforcement Officer Brenda Hanscom Bilotta presented the City of Bangor’sposition. Citizen Reese Perkins spokein opposition to the Application. Steven Farren offered a rebuttal in response to the opposition. Public Hearing was Closed. Board of Appeals deliberated on the matter. Board of Appeals voted on the matter. Member LaBouff made a motion to deny the appeal of the Notice of Violation. Member Thompsonseconded the motion. Motion passed (5-0). Other business: None. Meeting adjourned. Member Ballingall made a motion to Adjourn. Member Perkins seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously (5-0) to adjourn.
