BANGOR SCHOOL COMMITTEE
REGULAR MEETING
7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025
School Committee Members Present: Chair Sara Luciano, Vice Chair Tim Surrette, Katie Brydon, Marwa
Hassanien, Shelly Okere, Imke Schessler-Jandreau, Ben Sprague.
A. 1. & 2. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Sara Luciano and the pledge of
allegiance followed.
3. a. The Bangor School Department and the Bangor School Committee recognized the
Bangor High School Math team for winning the 2024 Class A State Math Meet.
B. Adjustments to the Agenda:

C. Public Comments:
Clare Mundell spoke about the importance and meaning of DEIB support in the school
district.
D. 1. a. Recommendation to approve the 403 (b) Plan Document.

b. Recommendation to approve the 403 (b)Adoption Agreement.

D. 2. a. Superintendent Robinson provided a district update to the committee.
b. Superintendent Robinson reported the following teacher reassignments for the School
Year 2025-2026:
Jacob Dunton from Special Education (RR) Teacher at Fairmount School to Special
Education(RR) Teacher at Vine Street School.
Dana Morris from School Counselor at (.6) Abraham Lincoln School and (.4)
Fourteenth Street School to School Counselor at Abraham Lincoln School.

E. 2. a. Recommendation to approve the first reading of the following new and revised
policies:
1. Revised Policy BDA—Bangor School Committee Organizational Meeting
2. Revised Policy BED—Remote Participation
3. Revised Policy BEDB —Agenda Preparation
4. Revised Policy JJIF—Management of Concussions and Other Head Injuries
5. Revised Policy JLCD—Administering Medications to Students in School
Motion: Hassanien Second: Brydon Vote: 7-0
H. 1. Important dates were reviewed by Chair Sara Luciano.
I. Chair Luciano congratulated Member Hassanien for completion of her poctorate
Degree and wished Director Babin well as she moves on from the Bangor School
Department.
Member Sprague also congratulated Member Hassanien on her recent Doctorate
Degree and wished Director Babin well. Member Sprague also brought attention to
the combined JFDS/WSCS sports teams as a reminder for them not to be mentioned as
one school or the other.
Member Hassanien wished Director Babin well, and wished all teachers an amazing
teacher appreciation week next week.
Member Surette questioned if there was a time frame for moving back to City Hall,
also congratulations to Member Hassanien and well wishes to Director Babin.
Member Brydon acknowledged Member Hassanien and Director Babin.
