Summary
This language would amend the City's Code of Ordinances to allow citizens to on -street park during the winter
except during snow clearing orders. This amendment will also codify the locations where citizens may park off-
street during snow clearing orders.

CITY COUNCIL ORDINANCE

ORDINANCE, Amending Section 291-42 of the Code of Ordinances to Allow On -Street Parking During the
Winter Except During a Snow -Clearing Order
WHEREAS, at present, the Code of Ordinances prohibits on -street parking during the winter in any public way
or on the public square in the Downtown Parking Management District;
WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Department allow on -street parking during the winter of 2024-2025 to
determine whether this prohibition remains necessary; and
WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Department determined that on -street parking could be allowed during the
winter except during snow clearing orders;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR AS FOLLOWS, THAT
The Code of the City of Bangor is amended as shown below:
§ 291-42. Winter parking.
A. Parking prohibited. Exeept On any public way, as defined in 17-A M.R.S.A. § 505, or public square in the
Downtown Parking Management District as established by § 291-37B, it shall be unlawful and in violation of this

(1) Cameron Stadium (Mt. Hope parking lot)
(2) Columbia St. Parking Deck (lower deck only)
(3) Cross Insurance Center (designated section of Lot C only)
(4) Essex St. Dog Park
(5) Gateway Park
(6) Hayford Park
(7) Pickering Sq. Parking Garage (back section, lower deck only)
(8) Union St. Recreation Center
(9) Upper Abbott Parking Lot (back section only, 6:00 pm — 6:00 am)
