1. Bids/Purchasing
a. Pest Control — Water Quality— ProActive Pest Management - $82,245 (3 year contract,
$27,415 per year)
Motion made and seconded to approve contract; motion passed unanimously
b. Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Fill Station and Decontamination Wash — Fire
Department— Industrial Protection Services, LLC - $93,805
Councilor Mallar expressed concern that staff added additional equipment, not part of the
original bid. The equipment, a decontamination wash, was added due to significant savings
between the budgeted amount and the bid response. The City has historically used such
savings when appropriate to add additional services or equipment to projects. Councilor
Mallar's concerns were that all bidders were not provided with the opportunity to also submit a
quote on the decontamination wash.
The Committee made a motion to approve the fill station with tentative approval for the
decontamination wash after all bidders were provided an opportunity to provide a quote for
comparison. The motion passed unanimously.
2. Resolve - Accepting and Appropriating $6,731,241 in Additional Construction
Funds from the National Guard Bureau For the Runway Rehabilitation Project at
Bangor International Airport and Execution of a Cooperative Construction
Agreement
Motion made and seconded to recommend approval; motion passed unanimously
