Finance Director Little provided an update regarding the City's annual audit and financial
statement preparation. He explained that the audit is given priority as possible while day to
day operations still are maintained. The current staffing vacancies have created obstacles
as staff has had to take on additional duties. The audit is also dependent on staffing and
testing of other Departments, including grants. The auditors were working on completing
the Cross Insurance Center, Airport and the Community Development Block Grant areas as
well as School Department. Once all those areas were finalized, the significant work on the
General Fund could move forward as well as implementation of new reporting requirements
for online subscriptions. Both staff and the auditors are looking to complete the audit in
January.
