3. Develop and implement a program to expand pollinator-friendly habitat on public land, as well as
provide this information to private landowners. This program includes, but is not limited to, identifying
and inventorying areas in Bangor that may be enhanced with pollinator-friendly plantings; creating a
recommended native plant list to include wildflowers, grasses, vines, shrubs and trees, and a list of
local suppliers for those species; and tracking (by square footage and/or acreage) annual area of
pollinator habitat created or enhanced; and
(d) The City of Bangor is authorized to and shall:
1. Install and maintain at least one authorized Bee City USA street sign in a prominent location, and
create and maintain a webpage on the City of Bangor website that includes a copy of this resolution
and links to the national Bee City USA website; contact information for the City's Bee City USA liaison
and committee; and link to the Bangor Beautiful Bee City USA webpage for additional information about
the Bee City USA designation.
2. Create and adopt an integrated pest management (IPM) plan designed to prevent pest problems,

Program as well as the course's Monarchs in the Rough initiative.
3. Establish a policy in Bangor's Comprehensive Plan to acknowledge and commit to the Bee City USA
designation and review the Climate Action Plan and other relevant documents to consider
improvements to pest management policies and practices as they relate to pollinator conservation,
identify appropriate locations for pollinator-friendly plantings, and consider other appropriate measures.
4. Each February apply for renewal of Bangor's Bee City USA designation, making sure to follow the
format provided by Bee City USA including a report of the previous year's Bee City USA activities and
paying a renewal fee based on Bangor's population.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Bangor supports the enactment of
the City's official designation as a Bee City USA affiliate.
