Chair Chernesky called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

New Business:
1. Certificate of Appropriateness – 117 Broadway – Map-Lot 048-151 – Broadway
Historic District – Applicant/Owner: Broadway Medical Arts - Approval requested for
Certificate of Appropriateness to renovate the exterior of the Modernist structure in order
to comply with MUBEC and HIPAA and more generally to update the building to support
medical office occupancy. The property is located at Map-Lot 048-151, in the Broadway
Historic District.
Planning Officer Anja Collette stated that the applicant is unable to be present this evening and that they
requested postponement of their application review to the next meeting.
Vice Chair Riordan moved to postpone review of the application until March 14, 2024, seconded by
Member King. Roll call vote conducted – all in favor, none opposed. Motion passed.
Other Business:
2. Presentation by Mike Pullen on Bangor’s Historic Architectural Styles
HPC Consultant Mike Pullen presented a slideshow presentation and discussed with Commissioners.

3. 490 Broadway – Nomination to National Register of Historic Places
Planning Officer Collette presented the agenda item. Stated the purpose was just to bring the
nomination to the attention of the Commission.
4. Meeting Minutes – January 11, 2024
Alternate Member Weitkamp moved to approve the January 11th meeting minutes, seconded by
Commissioner Quin seconded. All voting members in favor, none opposed. Motion passed.
5. Public Comment
Member of the public, Joe Pickering, presented to the Commission to ask about a house on the corner
of Cedar and Hammond Streets and whether it was ever used for trolley cars. HPC Consultant Pullen
responded that it might have been.
6. Adjournment
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
