A quorum being present the February 3, 2023 meeting of the Commission on Cultural Development was called to order by Chair Filipiak at 8:30 am 2. MOTION by Commissioner Bragg with second by Commissioner Rieiley to "approve minutes of January 6 meeting" APPROVED UNAMIMOUSLY . 3. MOTION by Commissioner Filipiak with second by Commissioner Stockwell to elect Hollie Adams as Vice-Chair of the CCD. APPROVED UNAMIMOUSLY. 4. There was no report by the Chair 5. Financial report - Remaining funds available for distribution to spring grants will be around $6,000. Commissioner Adams to follow up on expected funds from McGillicuddy Center in support of ARTober. 6. Committee Assignments a. Grant Committee —Chair Bragg, Rieley, Stockwell, Clark, Adams b. ARTober Committee - Chair Adams, Clark, Filipiak, Stockwell c. Assets Committee - Chair Filipiak, Greenlaw, Rieley, Clark 7. Other business: Proposed weekly arts calendar Initiated by interested citizens, the Bangor Daily News is proposing a weekly arts calendar to be published in print and an on-line listing of 20 featured events in the Bangor area, an average of at least 10 to occur in Bangor. The listing will include some commentary and one feature article. Betsy Lundy suggested that funding for the Convention and Visitors Bureau could be repurposed to support the calendar. Financial support will also come partly from advertising (anticipated 50%) after the initial six month period. Commissioner Adams serves on this committee. MOTION by Commissioner Adams with second by Commissioner Filipiak to "request that the City of Bangor fund a print campaign in support of arts and cultural organizations". APPROVED UNAMIMOUSLY. Commissioner Adams volunteered to prepared a presentation for the Business and Economic Development Committee prior to submission to City Council. It is noted that funds allocated to the former CVB could be reassigned to this project. 8. Adjourned at 9:37 am
