O'Donnell, B. Thomas,T. Willette, M. Hathaway, D. Bushey The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Hawes at 6:01 p.m. 1. Order: Donation accepting$1,000 from Gatorade to Parks & Recreation honoring Track and Field Recipient Bangor High Junior Anna Connors Parks and Recreation Director Tracy Willette introduced Anna Connors and provided an overview of the donation. Anna was chosen as a Gatorade State Player of the Year for Track and Field for her athletic excellence, academic achievement, and exemplary character. Appreciation for Anna thinking of the Parks & Recreation Department was expressed. A motion to approve and move to full Council was made by Councilor Tremble, seconded by Councilor Yacoubagha, all in favor. 2. Discussion: Concerns Regarding Half Acre Night Club Assistant City Manager O'Donnell and Assistant City Solicitor Thomas provided an overview regarding citizen concerns being brought forth related to this establishment and included some potential options for Council consideration. Both the owner of the establishment, Patrick Brann, and representatives from nearby residence, Franklin Place, were present to air their grievances and address concerns. There was significant discussion regarding this topic, including questions for Police Chief Hathaway and Deputy Chief Bushey. It was decided this item would be brought back for additional consideration at a future date. 3. Presentation on Services Related to Homelessness:Together Place Peer Run Recovery Sean Faircloth, Executive Director of Together Place, provided an overview of the services offered by this agency. They offer members intentional peer support and empower people living with mental health challenges and/or substance use disorder to make informed decisions about their recovery.
