O'Donnell, J. Comstock The meeting was called to order by Councilor Tremble at 6:06 p.m. 1. Resolve: Acceptance and Execution of a Grant Amendment in the Amount of$171,499 to the Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Distribution Program Public Health's Health Promotion ManagerJamie Comstock provided an overview ofthis item. It is an amendment to an existing grant, increasing the dollar amount for the program. A motion to approve and move to full Council was made by Councilor Davitt, seconded by Councilor Okafor, all in favor. 2. Order: Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Maine Access Points to Transfer$103,549 in Naloxone Kits for Distribution Throughout the State of Maine Health Promotion Manager Jamie Comstock provided an overview of this item. This is to increase access to these kits, funded by State dollars, through our Public Health Dept. A motion to approve and move to full Council was made by Councilor Davitt, seconded by Councilor Okafor, all in favor. 3. Resolve: Accept&Appropriate $31,600 from a Maine Health Access Foundation Systems Improvement and Innovation Response Grant Health Promotion Manager Jamie Comstock provided an overview of this item. This grant is meant to engage partner organizations and people who use drugs, to identify sustainable communication and relationship building strategies to better empower people in initiatives addressing substance use disorder within the community. A motion to approve and move to full Council was made by Councilor Davitt, seconded by Councilor Okafor, all in favor. 4. Presentation on Services Related to Homelessness:Together Place Peer Run Recovery Center& Bangor Area Recovery Network (BARN), Crossroads Together Place & BARN had to cancel, however, will be back at a future meeting. Dustin Sinclair and Ashley Ridley were present to provide an overview of Crossroads Case Management, based in Pittsfield. They are primarily a case management company that does adult, children, and homeless case management.They also do outpatient therapy. They stated they've worked hard to keep up with the increased demand and have not yet turned someone away. Council Priorities Update Assistant City Manager O'Donnell gave an update on the homelessness related priorities of the Council, including overlap, barriers, and gaps in services. There was discussion about shelters, people camping on private property, and the number of shelter beds, as well as the expansion at Acadia Hospital. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:58 pm.
