HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-05-22 City Council Minutes / MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—MAY 22, 2023 Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM Chaired by Council Chair Fournier Councilors Absent:None Meeting adjourned at 8:22 PM PUBLIC COMMENT John King was concerned with the unhoused youth and felt these children were being left behind He stated the truancy rate for Bangor is 31%. Dwight Mcintosh wanted to know what was going wrong with the homeless situation. He felt tax money was being wasted and that he was in favor of giving a hand up but it has to be a two-way street. Richard Chausser thought the Ciry codes should be adjusted to allow for more internzediate housing. Mike Tuller appreciated the efforts the City and staff have been making in regards to homelessness and he could see a shift in attitude on how to approach the problein.
