Amending the Schedule of Fees - Increasing Fee for Vacant Property Registration

Summary
This Order would amend the Schedule of Fees to increase the fee for the registration of a vacant building in
coordination with the revisions being made to the Vacant Property Registration Ordinance.
This Order would increase the fee in the Schedule of Fees for the registration of a vacant building. Currently,
the Schedule of Fees lists the fee at $283, and this Order would amend the Schedule of Fees to increase the
initial fee to $500 to register a vacant building. The permit for a vacant building lasts six months.
The Schedule of Fees would also be amended to indicate that the fee doubles for each renewal of such permit,
for each six-month period in which the building remains vacant, regardless of the ownership status or issuance
of a new permit (i.e., change of ownership), up to a maximum of $4,000 per six-month renewal.

Amending the Schedule of Fees - Increasing Fee for Vacant Property Registration
Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that,
The Schedule of Fees, as authorized under Chapter 109 of the Code of the City of Bangor, is hereby amended
as follows:
E. Code.
(26) Vacant Building Registration $ 2-500 / initial 6 months §§223-8, 223-9
This fee doubles for each renewal of such permit, for each six-month period the building
continues as vacant reaardless of the ownership status or issuance of a new permit (i.e., change of
ownership), up to a maximum of $4,000 per six-month renewal.
