HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-05-14 Harbor Committee Minutes � Harbor Committee Tuesday, May 14, 2002 Minutes Councilors Attending: None Staff Attending: Jim Ring, Jerry Ledwith Others Attending: Tom &Alice Lambert, Harrison Clark Committee convened at 7:05 p.m. 1. Dock Installation (Update� Gerry Ledwith reported that docks are installed, but not all electrical work finished. Wood anti-trip plates need to be installed. Rubber anti-trip plates were considered but not convenient for dock connection inspection. Four throwable life rings have been received. Two on dock 4 and 1 each on dock 2 and 3. Dock 3 is ready for service. One to two weeks to be fully operational including sewer pump out stations. 2. Dock Space Registrations (Update� � Jim Ring reported on dock registrations. So far sixteen registrations have been received totaling $17,216 which is very good and on target for revenue projections. He also noted that with uncertainty with fuel, economy, etc., total projection for FY 03 budget unchanged at $24 K. Gerry Ledwith noted that there is one person on the waiting list and he may be able to accommodate him. Gerry also stated that the harbor boat has been rewired. Jim Ring reported that new 4 cycle outboard is still in the budget and approval is likely. 3. Bangor Harbor Day (Continued Discussion� The race is on for June 30th! For flat water race, Harrison Clark finalizing registration form. Lion's Club has liability insurance and will send copy naming City as additional insured. There will be 10 kayak and 7 canoe classes. Harrison Clark will be getting Coast Guard Event Permit shortly which has already been discussed with them. Committee will be checking into vending permit for food, etc. CMS will promote event. Tom Lambert to invite local powercraft dealers. Harrison Clark to invite paddle craft dealers. � Gerry, Tom, and Harrison will be meeting on May 23, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Harbor office to discuss further details. 1
