Minutes of September 12, 2005
Director's Reuort
The City has proposed to lease the airport land on Union Street to
the Bangor Soccer Club. The Club will raise the funds to construct the
fields and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance costs.
The Dakin Pool Committee has agreed that the cost for a new
bathhouse will be approximately $152,000. The City will perform
a6out $21,500 of inkind work on the project. The Friends of Dakin Pool
will begin fund raising for the project soon.
� The Senior League World Series was very successful this
year.
The parking lot at Bangor Muni will be paved in mid to late
October.
Dakin Pool had a successful swim season with a total attendance
of 5,567. The average daily attendance was 91.2, on days when the
temperature was 80° and above the attendance averaged 110.5.
Pancoe Pool enjoyed another good year with a total attendance
of 27,640. That's about 220 less than last year with two fewer days of
operation this year. The daily average was 425.2, and 533.6 on days
when the temperature was 80° and above.
Program Report
Adult Softball enjoyed another good year with over 600
participants. Girls Softball had nearly 200 participants this year. The
Day Rec Program had 50 children registered. The High School Summer
Soccer League had 20 teams participating. The supervised playground
• program recorded a total of 7,272 visits to the five playgrounds.

The Youth Soccer Program for youth in grades K-5 began last
Saturday with approximately 350 registered.
The 43�' Labor Day Road Race had 130 participants this year.
Golf Course Reuort
The Ladies Golf Association had another great year. Golfers
participating in their tournaments continued to increase.
The Mens Golf Association had a good year as well. The Twilight
League had 45-50 players each week.
Planning continues on the new maintenance facility. It's our
hope to start construction next Spring. Member Kropp asked if public
restrooms could be included in the facility. Brian will look into it.

Public Works will pave more cart paths this Fall.
More tree work will take place this Fall on the left-hand side of
the eighth tee. Staff will be doing more drainage work around 16, 17,
and 18 this Fall.
We received good news last week when Tina and 7eff Murdy
agreed to extend their contract for the restaurant for three more years.
Request for proposals for the beautification project should go out
soon.
It was the consensus of the committee that the membership
rates and green fees should remain the same for next year.
