HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-03-13 City Council Minutes MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—MARCH 13, 2023 Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM Chaired by Council Chair Pro Tempore Schaefer Councilors Absent:Fournier,Sprague Meeting adjourned at 8:07 PM Motion made and seconded to elect Councilor Schaefer to serve as Council Chair Pro Tempore Passed PUBLIC COMMENT Michael Beck felt the City should be working with the Legislature regarding the issue with bio solids. John King would like to see the ARPA funds be used for housing and rehabilitation for recovery. John Karnes wanted sornething done with the homeless situation on Cleveland Street as it was ruining his business. Charlie Bloom stated there were new homeless individuals on Valley Avenue and some structures have been vacant for a while and the material from those structures is deteriorating and making its way to the trail and stream. He would like to see cleaning up the site prioritized Doug Dunbar thought a diversion fund would help to keep people from flowing into homelessness. Mike Tuller wanted the City to allow the Bangor Friends for Affordable Housing to put up trailers for homeless veterans. CONSENT AGENDA ASSIGNED TO ITEMNO.
