HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-02-13 City Council Minutes MINUES OFREGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—FEBRUARY 13, 2023 Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM Chaired by Council Chair Fournier Councilors Absent:Hawes Meeting adjourned at 8:09 PM PUBLIC COMMENT Stan McMillan stated he had been working on the tank construction project over the past few years and said City employees treated him wonderfully. He felt the City had very good employees. Michael Beck felt t/ae City needed to make a plan to prioritize housing needs in the City. Pastor Terry Dinkins thanked the City for its response over the very cold weekend and that it resulted in his warming center having fewer people t{:an it normally did Councilor Fournier ccddressed the audience indicating t{iat there was not a public hearing on the tenant ordinance scheduled for this meeting and that tonight was just a first reading. There would be a public{zearing on the ordinance at the Government Operations Committee meeting on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at S:I S PM. Mike Tuller would like to see more non-congregate housing. He indicated there is a lot of collaboration between lhe non profits outside of what the City is doing with them. Amanda Ricker of Seattle, Washington,spoke on the advantages of having non- congregate housing. CONSENT AGENDA ASSIGNED TO ITEMNO.
