HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-08-08 City Council Minutes MINUTES OFREGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—AUGUST 8, 2022 Meeting called to order at 7.33 PM Meeting Chaired by Council Chair Fournier Councilors Absent.Hawes Meeting Adjourned at 10.29 PM PUBLIC COMMENT Roc LeBlanc, 64 West Broadway, commented on the proposed Comprehensive Plan and felt the city departments were not talking to each other. Anne Marie Quin, 11 Chatham Street,felt more input on the Comprehensive Plan was needed from people who actually live in the city. Pastor Terry Dinkins of the Mansion Church wanted to know what was being done about tent city and felt they need to go after the drug dealers. He indicated he was available to help in any way to fight the drug epidemic and homelessness. Deborah Johnson, Vice Chair Greater Bangor Democratic Committee, invited Councilors to speak at an event August 270`at 10:30 am at the Wellman Center to address homelessness and drug addiction. She asked if there was no rent control in the city. Gabrielle Wiley asked what was being done to address trauma in the moment. Anne Maria Baeza felt the proposed Comprehensive Plan was upside down and there was not enough input from the people who live in Bangor. Mike Taller,253 Maple Street,supported what Pastor Dinkins said He said there are a lot of non profits working together and invited the city to work with them.He said there are lots of opportunities for input from the public but they are not showing up to the City's listening sessions.
