Bunker Lindsey Santmire Acting Planning Director city Nall Bangor, Maine January 20, 1964 Subject: Acceptance of Hanker Lane with reference to the request by S. R. Hanker for the acceptance of Bunker Lane as a public WRY The plane have been reviewed and the roadway construction inspected and the following comments are offered: 1. The preliminary layout plan has been reviewed and the accuracy checked and is considered adequate. Said review did not Include the lottlni. layout which it is anticipated your office will review. 2. The Eeneralrade of the road is considered to be satisfactory and Is graded se as to provide natural surface run-off. In this respect It is not considered that the Installation of an underground storm drain- age system will be necessary, 3. The gravel base material used for the roadway construction appears to be satisfactory and has been Installed to an acceptable depth. It is noted however that the roadway has been graded to a width of only ten to twelve feet and it is felt that the minimum acceptable width for a roadway Of this type should be eighteen feet. The estimated coat of said widen- ing would be $550.00. 4. It Should be noted that no fine gravel and tar surface has been applied to the roadway as required by the Subdivision Ordinances. It Is felt that the responsibility for the application of the tar surface should be decided by the PI.nnning Board. The estimated cost of the tar Surface would be a65o.00. 5. No sidewalks have been provided on the roadway although the side slopes have been oroperly graded. It is the opinion Of this office that since there are no exi Stlnp, sidewalks on Ohio Street, that there should be no necessity for sidewalks an Banker Lane. Lindsey Santmlre, Acting Planning Director page 2 It is recommended that the completion of the work outlined in paragraphs three and Pour above, may be accomplished by the furnishing of a bond or a certified check by the Subdivider in accordance with Chapter %II, Article p, Section I of the Subdivision Regulations.
