114-R-2
CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
Engineering Department
June 22, 1964
To: The Municipal Officers
Pursuant to City Council Order $67-R, passed April 13, 1964
accepting a petition from residents of Essex Street for a new
sanitary sewer, the City Engineer was requested to make necessary
surveys, and prepare coat estimates and proposed assessments for
a new sewer.
Various studies were made and it was firally determined that
the most feasible location for the sewer would coincide with the
plan previously submitted In 1962, with certain minor modifications.
This plan calls for the installation of 2,575 feet of pipe ranging
in size from 8 inches to 24 inches and extending in a southerly
direction on Essex Street from Lancaster Avenue to a point 150 feet
northerly of the Interstate Highway and thence in sal easterly
direction parallel with the Interstate Highway to an existing 24
Inch Stub under the Interstate Highway. The estimated cost of this
Installation is twenty-five thousand eight hundred dollars
(S25, BOO), of which 75%, or nineteen thou send three hundred fifty
dollars ($19.350), may be assessed against the properties bene-
fited.
Questionnaires were
sent to all property owners who would
benefit from the installation and a tabulation of their
opinions,
as well as the estimated
assesoment,is as
