City of Bangor by providing for a single Registrar of Voters be submitted to the
legislature of the State of Maine for enactment.

STATE OF MAINE
In the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-five.
An Act amending a Charter of the City of Bangor, relative to the
Board of Registration.
Subsea. (a) of Sec. 1, of Art. V of Ch. 54 of the P. 6 S. L. of the
State of Maine, 1931, as amended is hereby repealed and replacing the same
with the following:
(a) The following officers and boards shall be appointed by ballot
by a majority vote of the members of the city council; city manager, city
clerk, city solicitor, city auditor, treasurer and tax collector, members of
the superintending school committee, members of the board of assessors,
trustees of the water district, civil service commissioners, a single registrar
of voters not withstanding any law of the State of Maine to the contrary, and
having all of the qualifications of a registrar of voters under the laws of the
State of Maine trustees of Sophia Kirstein Student Loan Fund and trustees
of the Hersey Fund.
