Dear Mr. Clark:
It is vv recommendatio,y for medical reason;
that Mr. James Morse he retired from the Depart—
ment.
Mr. Morse has an active duodenal ulcer
ompanSed by a severe nervous
reaction which
contributes greatly to his stateof ill health.
Following a gall bladder operation over tan
years ago, he developed pancreatitiswhich, in
itself, can be disabling. Her ently bad
studies at the9eGeans° Hospital in Togas where
a GI aeries showed an active ulcer. It was
noted
there that his nerves were in an agitated, tense
state. He sea placed on the usual diet and
medication for ulcer; but it Has ncted that he
did not
respond as well as expected. It ores felt
that the nervous condition and the pain played
a role in his failure to respond to treatment.
Since returning to work, Mr. Morse still
shows a poor response to treatment. I believe
that his work Contributes some to -the nervous
tension that he exhibits. I feel that further
amployment In this work will aggravate both the
ulcer and the pancreatitis. It is my opinion,
meed on the above findings that he should be
recommended for retirement because of the above
medical reasons.
Yours truly, ('
