IN REi Change terms Remittance IBI Zona to General Bueineea Zone a
portion of land on the east side of Lincoln Street, being
the Prapertim at 33.35 Lincoln and 43 Lincoln Street
centlament
This latter will supplicant the letter of September 15, 1965 on the Lincoln Street
rerrmning.
The request to rezone the Property at 43 Lincoln Street was mads on behalf of the
owner who is now In a hospital. A estate agency has suggested the property should he lir,.
uitatet.
It ens the feeling of the attorney for the estate that In order for the property
to be salable, considering the commercial development that has taken place around It, the
property, in question, should be zoned to confom with the adjacent property.c
In presenting the request to the Planning Board, the Planning Department included
the property at 33-05 Lincoln Street to make an integral unit and prevent the latter pro.
party from being completely surrounded. It was fait that any consideration should include
bath parcels on the basis of sound planning and the docLmion made for, or agai opt, on the
total package.
The Planning Beard took Into Its consideration the existing use of the proportion,
in question, the surrounding uses and what theeffects would be. They felt that the future
of this Property would be commercial and that a change now would not seriously affect the
actual use of either property before our
w Land Use Plan w established. They also felt
this action could logically be dans at this time, In this parti pular case.
Respectfully submitted.

Aar Sir:
In answer to your letter a August 30th I an writing to vigorously
p[oteat the aooiM change that you indicate Lae beep »gwstwd. Although
I, yself, do not occupy the bows at 33-35 Lincoln Street I have
Contacted a7 anther who does smapy it and her feeling amd eine are &)A*.
Actually Own the planning board mete Sept. 13 I 81epect that a
transfer of the Property ( 33-35 Lincoln Street) from as to my mother
Will how been accomplished and so I speak for both of w.
8petifically, to change y wets"46 abode fret residential to general
busdnese m such short notice would render her an mdw berdehip.
Since her house is a little commercial value at present, its waraet
PACO would drop Considerably, gins we (y mother and I) bath »alias
net we cannot atop the expansion of business to this arm indefinitely
I propose than that the board consider postponing action on the proposed
zoning request for a your or two. Thin would give us tins to make the
tmwition with ae little financial werifice as possible and secondly
(as I Unmretmd it) would men that this area would cone under a hew
general plan for all of Bangor. This new plan would, I suppose, asks it
mandatory that bnsaiaeases provide parking etc. which .mold provide for
beater living than the Present business districts as they are now mood,
if oua we Iorced to live in such a district. I suppose also that the
an plan will differentiate between business ler as and light industry,
light SMwtry being Mat the gropazty will actually be used for should
the acting change be permitted.
Again let we may that I an not agetwt progrew, barely that I
would live ties to prepare for it.
Stncerajy yours,
Edward P. gudlay
