IN RE: City Council Order 137-S
Discontinuance of Lafayette Street
In vies of the wording of City Council Order J-160, passed
September 23, 1957, and s ral petitions on the earlier discontinuance
of Lafayette Street, it Se passible that the entire street was dis-
continued at that time—although, it wan not removed from the City Map.
If you feel that the wording aaspecific and actually covered
the entire length of Lafayette Street, the Current order would not be
necessary.
sh are submitting the Planning Board's letter in Worsham to
the current City Council order 137-S to facilitate the discontinuance,
if you feel that this procedure is necessary.
Respectfully submitted,

Toe The Honorable City Council
FIRM: The Planning Board
IN BC: City Council Order 137-S
Discontinuance of Lafayette Street
Gentlemen:
Please be advised that the Planning Board has considered this
order.
Lafayette Street has not and presumably will not develop, and
its use is not necessary for good development of the area.
In the Bpardma opinion, the Discontinuance of this street will
not have an adverse affect an the Mester Plan for the City of Bangor.
They, therefore, voted to approve the discontinuance of Lafay-
ette Street from Leighton to Grant Street.
Respectfully submitted,
Carl J. KPeabud
