as established by the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Bangor on January 4, 1954,
as amended, be hereby Further amended as follows,
That a change From Agricultural Zone to General Business Zona a of land
on the easterly side of Union Street being more particularly described aafallowsn
To be changed to "General Business Zones:
Beginning at a point on the northeasterly sideline of Union Street and
approximately 193 Feet, more or lose, northwest of the north line of Westland and
Union streets.
Thence in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 630 Feat, more or less,
to a point.
Thence in a northwesterly direction for a distance of 830 feet, more or leas,
to a point.
Thence in a southwesterly direction for a tlietance of 633.5 Feet, more or lass,
to a point an the northeasterly sideline of Union Street.
Thence in a southeasterly direction along the northeast sideline or Union Street
for a distance of 830 feet, more or leas, to the point of beginning.
The above intended to describe Lot 60 Rural Sheet 24, City of Bangor Assessors
Maps.

Change from Agricultural Zone to Ceneral Business Zona an area of land
on the easterly aide of Union Street

Please be advised that the Planning Board held a public hearing on the
above request on November B, 1965.
The charge, requested by Nr. Arthur Carey, involved approximately 11.6
acres of land on Union Street immediately south of the Army Ram wive Center.
The Planning Board carefully considered the Proposal that was presented
and feel theta
1. The area
n Union Street is directly stress from the oil tanks at
Dow. With the anticipated use and development of that area of Dow
Field for commercial u , the property, in question, is not an area
for good residential development.
2. The proposed use (auto dealerships) if well developed should not be
detrimental to the neighboring residential area.
9. While there will be an Increase in traffic faun the business use, it
will fit into the traffic resulting from the Dow Field development.
6. The development of tau or three agencies at one site has merit and
may be a good solution to the location problems facing these busi—
After careful consideration of the request and its effect an the general
plan, the Planning Board vatet4four in fevor�uonm abstained, to approve the request.
